My foster mom says I love to walk and play, I’m inquisitive, affectionate, friendly, alert, smart, and I love kids. She says it’s pretty easy and I don’t mind her help! I wear a belly band in the house so I don’t dribble on the floor. My foster mom says I’m a resource guarder however, I believe all toys are mine and I don’t have to share with other dogs because I am a King! I have a difficult time emptying my bladder completely so my foster mom helps me. At night my foster parents put me on the couch with them to watch TV. I love going to school every morning and meeting all the kids! Stairs are kinda difficult for me so a house without them or just a couple would be best. My foster family has a stroller for me to go on long walks with them. I can no longer jump on the couch and I can’t walk far distances. In 2018 I had surgery to fuse 2 of my vertebras. I’m a happy guy that loves to run after my ball! I’m not very fast because I have IVDD, which is degenerative disc disease. They say I’m a special needs boy, and they are right because I am very special! I’m 5 years old and live in Southern California. Hi I’m Cooper! I’m looking for a very special new home.

Multiplayer modes allow up to four players to compete over the Internet and up to eight over a LAN. Weather and time of day can also affect a hunter's health, so players must ensure their character's eat and drink enough in order to avoid injury from animal attacks. Hunters also must deal with time of day changes, since animals become more difficult to track at night. Seasonal changes and varying weather conditions affect each location's terrain. Animals randomly spawn in one of eight outdoor settings, which feature various terrains. Artificial intelligence causes animals to react in a variety of ways based on their level of aggression, daily routines, and senses of smell, sight, and hearing. With more people moving to the suburbs north of Denver in search of better job opportunities, affordability and quality of life, coupled with the steady increase of traffic along the I-25 corridor, the town of Erie looks to establish an identity beyond a bedroom community, and we view the acquisition of these 255 acres as the first step,” Pratt said.No guarantee, warranty or representation of any kind is made regarding the completeness or accuracy of descriptions or measurements (including square footage measurements and property condition), such should be independently verified, and Compass expressly disclaims any liability in connection therewith. “Erie’s East Gateway serves as the portal to the community for Erie residents, work commuters and daytime visitors. The town believes the site could spur a mixed-use employment center with community retail, entertainment uses, hospitality and diverse residential product, according to Erie Economic Development Manager Ben Pratt. Search public information for properties in Erie County, New York. “This property is one of the most visible interstate highway corners in the northern metro submarket and located at the front door of Erie, making the town of Erie a natural fit to acquire the land,” said Eric Roth, senior vice president with CBRE Land Services in Denver. The land is located at the northwest corner of Interstate 25 and Erie Parkway in Weld County. The town of Erie has acquired 255 acres of land at the gateway to the town in a $6.35 million transaction. Once you gain the ridge, the path levels off and you get a nice view of Liberty Mountain. From this point, the walk back is steeply uphill for a short while. One of my favorite views along the trail was looking back at the Pool and the Sentinel Covered Bridge from a little spur trail to an overlook. Below: The river under the bridge is very scenic The Pool is a wide, still spot on the river. My favorite view along the trail came at the spot overlooking the Sentinel Bridge. If you’re able, it’s definitely worth following the longer route to see Liberty Gorge Cascade, the Pool, The Sentinel Pine Covered Bridge, the Wolf’s Den and several impressive erratics along the trail. After passing the waterfall, be sure to take a quick peek inside Bear Cave.Īt the top of the Flume, the trail has two options – one returns people to Boulder Cabin and the bus stop, the other follows a trail for a little over a mile back to the main entry. The falls take several directional turns through the Flume – each angle makes it look like a completely different waterfall. Near the top of the Flume, visitors are treated to views of the crashing water of Avalanche Falls. Wooden walkways are attached to the sheer canyon walls and allow people to climb through the gorge using a series of ramps and steps. The Flume is a fascinating geological area – a narrow slot canyon carved out from thousands of years of river flow over the rock. A sign announces the beginning of the Flume. The water in the river passes thinly over a wide, smooth expanse of granite. Below: Table Rock The path through the woods is peaceful and shady Bear Cave is located near the top of the Flume The side view of Avalanche Falls.Īfter passing the cabin, the path follows alongside an area called Table Rock. The first covered bridge in Flume Gorge is brilliant red. The building is full of exhibits – both historical and natural. After a short uphill, both the bus riders and the walkers arrive at the Boulder Cabin. 25 miles, there is a bright, red covered bridge across the water – the bus goes through the bridge, but pedestrians cross a walkway attached to the side of the bridge. The two-mile loop starts off along a shady, wooded path that climbs down to the Pemigawasset River. However, bus riders miss seeing a lot of the other impressive scenery along the loop. This option substantially shortens the distance and climbing necessary to see the gorge. For anyone who doesn’t want to walk the two miles, there is a bus that will take visitors to a drop-off point at the Boulder Cabin. It’s no surprise the area draws such large crowds – it packs an amazing amount of unique scenery into an easy, two-mile loop. There will always be hordes of people, no matter the time of day, week or year you visit. Flume Gorge is an extremely popular area. There were definitely fewer people this time, but that’s not to say we had solitude. It was insanely crowded, unusually hot and glaringly sunny on that visit, so we decided to make a return visit on this trip – hoping that the clouds and cooler weather would keep the crowds at bay. Last year, when we visited New Hampshire for the first time, we went to Flume Gorge with my parents. Below: Avalanche Falls is located inside the Flume Liberty Gorge Cascade is also impressive The trail is lined with large boulders called glacial erratics The Sentinel Pine Covered Bridge is for pedestrians only. The Flume is a beautiful and unique place. But if you don’t mind crowds and want to see some unique scenery, don’t miss a visit to this area. If you crave solitude, this is not the place for you. Located in Franconia Notch State Park, this two-mile path around the Flume Gorge showcases a lot of beautiful scenery on a short and easy walk. Introductory Guide to Visiting the White Mountains If you are looking for an easy way to attach your quilt binding, look at my machine binding tutorial. I sewed it to the front side of my quilt after quilting and then I machine stitched it down. I only do bias binding on a quilt with curved edges. It is a straight edge binding, not a bias. Binding the quiltįor my binding, I cut some of the strips into smaller pieces and also added some leftover pieces for a completely scrappy binding. I bought 2 jelly rolls so I could use the fabrics for a border…I just sewed strips together and added them around the sides. I don’t recommend using the 2 1/2 inch strips pieces for a border….it stretched because of the bias edges on the blocks. There was some stretching when I quilted it and the borders didn’t lay perfectly flat but after washing and drying it looks pretty good. The back is muslin and I used Warm & Natural for the batting. I actually used only 21 of the strips from the 2nd jelly roll for the blocks since I have 20 blocks. One jelly roll – using 39 strips will give you 13 large blocks and you will have 13 small blocks leftover that could be used for another project or you could mix and match them. This design takes 80 small strip blocks – 4 to each large block design equals 20 blocks for this quilt. The quilt size is approximately 72 x 88 before adding the borders. One will have 2 muslin strips with 1 print strip in the center. One will have 2 print strips with 1 muslin strip in the center. The strips are cut the width of the fabric and are about 40 inches long.Įdit: I used yardage of muslin for the quilt – I just figured it out and it takes 4 and 1/4 yd – every tube uses 3 – 2 1/2 inch strips (7 1/2 inches) – you will have lots of odd pieces at the ends that can be used for other projects. I used a premium muslin for my solid color. I used 2 jelly rolls that had 40 strips in them for my projects but you could also cut your own 2½-inch strips of fabrics in your stash.
If this irritation goes untreated, blisters filled with yellow fluid ( pus) can form wherever the agent contacted the skin. Within 24 hours of exposure, they experience intense itching and skin irritation. Because people exposed to mustard agents rarely suffer immediate symptoms, and contaminated areas may appear completely normal, victims can unknowingly receive high doses. Furthermore, they are highly lipophilic, which accelerates their absorption into the body. Their alkylating capabilities make them strongly carcinogenic and mutagenic. Mustard gases are extremely toxic and have powerful blistering effects on victims. Mustard gases react with DNA, which interferes with cellular division and can lead to mutations. Physiological effects Soldier with moderate mustard agent burns sustained during World War I showing characteristic bullae on the neck, armpit, and hands These compounds have a similar ability to alkylate DNA, but their physical properties vary. Other such compounds are bis(2-haloethyl)ethers (oxygen mustards), the (2-haloethyl)amines ( nitrogen mustards), and sesquimustard, which has two α-chloroethyl thioether groups (ClC 2H 4S−) connected by an ethylene bridge (−C 2H 4−). Such compounds can form cyclic "onium" ions (sulfonium, ammonium, etc.) that are good alkylating agents. In the wider sense, compounds with the structural element BC 2H 4X, where X is any leaving group and B is a Lewis base, are known as mustards. Oxidative stress would be another pathology involved in mustard gas toxicity. Alternatively, if cell death is not immediate, the damaged DNA can lead to the development of cancer. These very reactive intermediates tend to permanently alkylate nucleotides in DNA strands, which can prevent cellular division, leading to programmed cell death. Sulfur mustards readily eliminate chloride ions by intramolecular nucleophilic substitution to form cyclic sulfonium ions. Mechanism of cellular toxicity Mustard gas alkylating an amino group via conversion to a sulfonium ion (2-chloroethylthiiranium) Mustard agents can be deployed by means of artillery shells, aerial bombs, rockets, or by spraying from aircraft. Today, sulfur-based and nitrogen-based mustard agents are regulated under Schedule 1 of the 1993 Chemical Weapons Convention, as substances with few uses other than in chemical warfare (though since then, mustard gas has been found to be useful in cancer chemotherapy ). As a chemical weapon, mustard gas was first used in World War I, and has been used in several armed conflicts since then, including the Iran–Iraq War, resulting in more than 100,000 casualties. Sulfur mustard is a type of chemical warfare agent. The typical mustard gas is the organosulfur compound bis(2-chloroethyl) sulfide. Mustard gases form blisters on exposed skin and in the lungs, often resulting in prolonged illness ending in death. When pure, they are colorless, but when used in impure forms, such as in warfare, they are usually yellow-brown. Sulfur mustards are viscous liquids at room temperature and have an odor resembling mustard plants, garlic, or horseradish, hence the name. The name mustard gas is technically incorrect: the substances, when dispersed, are often not gases but a fine mist of liquid droplets. Also known as mustard agents, this family of compounds are infamous cytotoxins and blister agents with a long history of use as chemical weapons. Such compounds are potent alkylating agents, which can interfere with several biological processes. In the wider sense, compounds with the substituent S(CH 2CH 2X) 2 and N(CH 2CH 2X) 3 are known as sulfur mustards and nitrogen mustards, respectively, where X = Cl or Br. Mustard gas or sulfur mustard is any of several chemical compounds that contain the chemical structure S(CH 2CH 2Cl) 2. A Fix for an issue that could cause a file URL to quit apps unexpectedly Boot Camp support for Macs with a 3TB hard drive Boot Camp support for installing Windows 8 The ability to redeem iTunes gift cards in the Mac App Store using Mac’s built-in camera The release also includes Safari 6.0.3 and audio related fixes for Logic Pro and 2011 iMacs: Users had previously been using workarounds to utilize Boot Camp on Macs with hard drives larger than the utility’s old 2.2TB limit. Other improvements in today’s release include support for install Windows 8 in Boot Camp and Boot Camp support for Mac’s using 3TB hard drives. It’s a feature that Apple originally introduced with iTunes 11 in November. One of the more notable new features is the ability to redeem iTunes gift cards using the Mac’s built-in camera within the Mac App Store. If you’re still not sure whether you’re the target market for the new lower-powered, ultra-portable machine, you can check out our own in-depth review and one-month-in video of just what it can and can’t do.įollowing the release of OS X Mountain 10.8.3 build 12D78 to developers earlier this week, Apple today released 10.8.3 to the public with a number of new features and enhancements. But overall, the experience sounds like a good one. King said that not all of the Boot Camp drivers automatically installed, there’s no Bluetooth support and some Windows apps (like Steam) look blurry because they don’t support the full resolution of the Retina display. If you’re fortunate enough to have taken delivery of your own Retina MacBook and want to try the experiment for yourself, be prepared for a few glitches along the way. It’s remarkable, and it makes me believe in the 12-inch MacBook more than ever before. Here, even after some Aero Glass transparency has been added in, everything is smooth. Even when I turn Transparency off in OS X, Mission Control isn’t completely smooth. It’s unequivocally better than performance on OS X, further leading me to believe that Apple really needs to overhaul how animations are done. It renders at 60FPS unless you have a lot going on. The comment was made by Computer Science major Alex King, who tried upgrading his Boot Camp installation of Windows 8.1 to the preview of Windows 10. One of the first people to try Windows 10 on the new Retina MacBook says that it actually runs more smoothly than OS X. Watch our full walkthrough, as we showcase this simple and compact eGPU solution on video. The setup also lets you tap into the power of the GPU right from your MacBook Pro’s built-in display, no external display required. The now-available $249 Akitio Thunder3 is much smaller than the larger Akitio Node, so it takes up a smaller footprint on your desk. Instead, you can utilize a Boot Camp installation, and turn your MacBook Pro into a 1080p gaming machine. That’s not to say that you should run out and buy a Windows laptop if you want to play the latest games requiring a more powerful GPU. It should come as no surprise that the setup process and support with Windows is, in some ways, quite a bit better than using an eGPU with macOS. While that solution yielded definite benefits, it was also hindered by difficulties caused by macOS itself. In our previous tutorial, we showed you how to wield an AMD RX 480 in macOS. As we’ve shown in a previous post, an eGPU can make a significant performance difference, turning an otherwise graphically pedestrian MacBook Pro into a competent gaming machine. While they’ve existed before the most recent MacBook Pro, the surge of interest in external GPUs is largely thanks to the implementation of Thunderbolt 3 in the latest Mac hardware. How to back up and restore a Boot Camp Windows partition on macOS using Winclone Watch our hands-on video walkthrough for the details. Unlike the Boot Camp creation + Windows 10 installation process, removing a Boot Camp partition couldn’t be easier. In this follow-up tutorial, we show you how to remove the Boot Camp partition from your Mac, which allows your primary macOS partition to reclaim its space. Since some Macs are fairly limited when it comes to internal storage space, having a large Boot Camp partition can make it tricky to manage storage space in macOS. Outside of the time it takes, another downside associated with creating a Boot Camp partition is that it can take up a significant amount of space on your primary drive. The process, while not difficult, can be slightly time consuming, especially if you have a slow Internet connection for downloading Windows 10. In a previous tutorial we showed you how to create a macOS Boot Camp partition for installing Windows 10 on a MacBook Pro. |
